A Fear of Santa and Soon-to-be’s:

Twas the Friday before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

On Friday, December 23rd Robert De Niro and wife Grace Hightower De Niro welcomed a baby girl to their family just days before Christmas. Baby Helen Grace weighed in at 7 lbs., 2 oz. and is the couple’s second child. The two met in 1987 in London and have seemingly defied the odds of most celebrity couples. Baby Helen was welcomed by big brother Elliot, 13, and half brothers and sisters with his former wife Diahnne Abbott and ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith.

Over the weekend a few other celebrity couples enjoyed the holidays, some for the first time with their children.

Singer-songwriter Dido, 40, and husband Rohan Gavin celebrated the holidays with their first child, for the first time! The couple welcomed baby Stanley in July and have been awaiting the holidays since his birth. Dido turned to Facebook to express her feelings about the upcoming weekend; she said, “I’m ridiculously excited about Stanley’s first Christmas this year! Hope you all have a brilliant one and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in 2012.”

A fear of the man in red:

Julianna Margulies, 45, told PEOPLE at the L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Awards on December, 15th in NYC of her sons encounter with Santa in the past. “I tried last year at our Christmas party and he wouldn’t get on Santa’s lap and hid behind me,” she said. “This year I actually asked our production, ‘Could you have Santa in the light?,’ because they always had him in a dark corner and that scared my kid. But I think most kids are afraid of Santa, until they get to 6 or 7.”
