Adele’s world just got way, way brighter. The crooning songstress recently welcomed her first child, and she can now add “mom to a wonderful baby boy” to her list of achievements!
We haven’t seen or heard much from Adele since she announced her pregnancy with longtime boyfriend Simon Konecki. She made the announcement via a blog post on her own personal website, a blog that hasn’t been updated since she posted about the pregnancy on June 29.
Though this is the first baby for Adele, Konecki is the father of a 5-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with Clary Fisher. A representative for Adele has firmly chosen to neither confirm nor deny the baby’s birth, but if the media outlets are correct, Konecki now has a son and daughter. As Adele posted in her original announcement, both she and her boyfriend were over the moon to learn of their expanding family.
Adele has kept a seriously low profile, one that we expect might start coming a bit more out of the shadows now, and she recently released a new song titled “Skyfall.” The track is for the newest James Bond film, and was released on Oct. 5 at 0:07 BST in tribute to the 50th anniversary of Dr. No, the first James Bond release.
The song is meant to have a classic Bond vibe with a femme fatale ambience—but parts of Adele still show through. We wonder what to expect from her now that her life is in a completely different place.
Something we’re not expecting? Adele to make any fuss over losing any baby weight. She was recently quoted by British newspaper The Sun about her views between body image and record selling successes. She said, “Exploiting yourself sexually is not a good look. I don’t find it encouraging. To sell more records, I don’t need to do that. I just stand there and sing. I’m not worried that I’m a ‘plus size’ and so much bigger than other artists.”
She is definitely sending the right message. As long as she is healthy and so is her baby, we are 100% behind her! Congratulations to both Adele and Simon!
