It’s getting close to that time for our favorite Soprano, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and fiancée, baseball player, Cutter Dykstra.  Sigler, who is six and a half months pregnant with the couple’s first child, a boy, recently spoke with People magazine about the ups and downs she experienced during her pregnancy thus far, as well as what she expects in the future.  Due in August, Sigler, 32, discussed her plans for keeping comfortable this summer, when the temperatures rise, saying, “ Just stay inside in the air conditioning is my plan”, adding, “My whole house has been under construction which has been lovely timing too, being pregnant. So I am going to move back into my house end of June, and I am just going to nest and organize and make his nursery.”  As for Dykstra, 24, son of baseball great and occasional troublemaker Lenny Dykstra, Sigler says he’s enjoying the process as well now that they are back together.  “Being far away from my fiancé is very hard during pregnancy. I’m with him now for the next two months back and forth,” Sigler explained. “It’s really special to be able to go through it [together]. Him being able to feel the kicks and stuff like that, it’s great. It’s really fun.”

As a sweet Mother’s Day gift, mom in waiting Kim Kardashian took to her blog to publicly express her appreciation for the women in her life.  Speaking fondly of her mother, Kris Jenner, Kardashian wrote, “My mom is a strong and ambitious career woman that despite her busy schedule and the millions of things she has going on, she still manages to put family first and continues to look out for us every day.  I’m honored to follow in her footsteps and make her proud like I am of her.”   Kardashian also directed her adulation towards grandmother MJ, and older sister Kourtney, while expressing a little pre baby jitters.  The reality show starlet wrote, “As I’m counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I’m a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best.”  Of her sister she said, “She is super woman…and I am so lucky to have her as my guide and confidant as I too become a mother”.  Kardashian, 32, and boyfriend Kanye West are expecting their first child in July.

It’s been quite a year for NFL star Reggie Bush.  First, revitalizing his career with an effective season for the Miami Dolphins, then, signing a hefty contract to be the featured running back for the Detroit Lions, and now he is a first time father.  Bush’s fiancée, Lilit Avagyan, 25, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Monday April 6^th, according to the couple’s representative.  In a blog post written for the Lions website in April, Bush discussed the prospects of becoming a father, his fiancée, and their plans for raising the baby.  “It’s our first one and it couldn’t have come at a better time.  It couldn’t have come with a better person.  Someone I really love and care about.  It’s great it really worked out perfect”.  He added, “The baby will be in L.A. Well, [Avagyan] is going to be in L.A. because her family lives 15-20 minutes away from us,” he explained. “So she’s going to need that support system while I’m here for a few days out of each week. Then I’ll be home . . . I’m going to rack up a lot of sky miles, I know that.”  

While attending the Baby2Baby’s Mother Day Garden party this past Saturday in Beverly Hills Alyssa Milano with son, 20 month old Milo Thomas, spoke about the joys of becoming a parent, the difficulties, and not worrying about fitting into a bikini.  “I find any sort of weight loss is about eating less and moving more, so I just did that and took my time”, she told People magazine, “Our bodies aren’t made to look good in a string bikini. Our bodies are made to nurture and cuddle and all those amazing things that come along with being a mom”.  Milano and husband, David Bugliari are first time parents with Milo although they are already thinking about number two.  “I’m enjoying this one right now,” she says. “We’re talking about baby number two, but we’re not actively trying yet.”

Fast talking funnyman Vince Vaughn announced recently, during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, that he and his wife, Kyla, are awaiting the arrival of a new baby.  Fresh off his second hosting gig on SNL, Vaughn, 43, is now in anticipation of his second child. He told Ellen, “This is the first time I’ve said anything…..We’re very excited [She’s due] August 5^th”.  Does that mean the baby is a girl, or is he just speaking of his wife?  We’ll have to wait and see.  Vaughn and his wife were married in 2010, and have a two year old daughter, Locklyn Kyla.

Sultry songstress Pink recently learned a very important lesson about parenting, as she put it, “And what do they say? ‘kids fall’ Welcome to parenthood”.  Recounting a story recently during an interview with Glamour magazine, Pink, 33, spoke of a very scary day; her daughter Willow’s concussion.  “Willow and I were at the pool and I was taking her to nap time. She was walking just a foot in front of me, and she trips and falls and gets a concussion,” Pink reminisced. “She passed out. Cut to an ambulance and fire truck and a CAT scan.”  That horrible helpless feeling that all parents experience at one time or another, the realization you can’t prevent your child from hurting themselves, and thusly you can’t stop the pain they may experience in life.  But Pink took this accident as a learning experience.  And also gave us one of the best parenting quotes in awhile. As Pink said, “Being a parent is a Jedi mind f—. It’s also the raddest thing ever.” So eloquently put!
