Madonna is speaking out for the first time about her recent adoption and is letting the media have it full force! The Material girl videotaped an interview from London for the Oprah show, set to air on Wednesday.

Madonna can't believe the media is giving her story such intense coverage and feels they are "doing a great disservice" to all African orphans. The Queen of Pop wants to send a clear message to the people who took a strong interest in her adoption of 13-month old David, saying, "Shame on you for discouraging other people from doing the same thing."

Madonna denied the claims that she was only adopting David because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had a great influence on her. She went on to say that she has never met Angelina and that her and her husband, Guy Richie, have been planning to adopt a child for the past two years.
Madge feels like this is  the perfect "opportunity to set the record straight." She said that, Yohane Banda, David's birth father, met her in court and she got his legal consent to adopt the child. She went on to say that he was very grateful to her for being able to give his child a life. Yohane said that if he had stayed in the village, he probably would have had to bury him due to poor conditions.
