Tiger Woods is going to be a dad! On Saturday, he and his wife Elin Nordegren announced they are expecting their first child together. He left the good news on his website:

"As some of you know, today is my 31st birthday. I'll spend it quietly with family and friends, but Elin and I have more exciting news to share: We are expecting our first child together this summer." 

"Obviously, we couldn't be happier and our families are thrilled," said Woods. "I have always wanted to be a dad. I just wish my father could be around to share the experience."

Last May, Tiger's father, Earl Woods, passed away at age 74 after battling cancer. Woods and his father shared a very special relationship. When speaking of his father he said, "My dad was my best friend and greatest role model. He was an amazing dad, coach, mentor, soldier, husband and friend."
