The daughter of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and brought a friend! She had her blue tongue lizard named Spanky with her and told DeGeneres, "I just love animals. My dad really brought it out in me."
Bindi, 8, says she will continue in her fathers footsteps with the family's animal-kingdom tradition. In 2008 she is also starring in a series on the Discovery Kids network. "I want to be like my dad," she said. "I want him to be proud of me." Not only is Bindi starring in a new series, but she is now the face of Australia, beating out model Lara Bingle.
After a fatal poisonious stingray accident that punctured his heart, Steve Irwin, 44, died on Sept. 4. while filming in northern Australia. His death was a shock to all of us and left Bindi and her brother Bob, 2, fatherless.
Steve's wife, Terri, 42, also made numerous apperances this week and tells Access Hollywood that all the video footage from her husband's death has been destroyed.
"There's standard protocols for examining certain evidence and that's no longer necessary," she said, "so we're very proud that Steve's last documentary is going to air and that's his last footage with wildlife." His last documentary, Ocean's Deadliest, will air Jan. 21 on the Discovery Channel.
