Mia Hamm, former soccer player, and Nomar Garciaparra, Dodgers first baseman, had twin girls Tuesday night, states Yahoo Sports. "Both are healthy and over 5 pounds," Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch said.

Hamm was in Los Angeles delivering the girls and Garciaparra was in flight when they were born from Florida. He went right to the hospital when he arrived but was on speaker phone with Mia during the births.

No word yet on when Nomar will rejoin the Dodgers but they expect to see him sometime this weekend for their three-game Freeway series.
