Run’s House: “Losing A Child”
2 04 2007Rapper-turned-minister Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons, 42, and his wife of 12 years, Justine, 43, lost their baby. Despite the fact that Rev. Run calls the baby's death "the biggest tragedy anyone could imagine," he still insisted that MTV's crew keep filming for reality show Run's House, states People. The third season of the show, premiering April 9th,
will document everything that the family went through.
Before the pregnancy, the couple had 5 children; Vanessa, 23, Angela, 19, Jojo, 17, Daniel "Diggy," 12, and Russell, 10. Halfway through Jackie's pregnancy, doctors discovered that the developing baby girl had an omphalocele, a birth defect that caused her organs to grow outside her body. Abortion was not an option for them. They wanted God to decide the fate of their child. So on Sept. 26, 2006, Justine gave birth via C-section to a 4-lb., 5-oz. girl whom the couple named Victoria Anne. The infant died less than two hours after her birth at a hospital near the family's Saddle River, N.J., home.
