Reverend Run’s Baby Girl

Joseph Simmons, a/k/a Run D-M-C, now Reverend Run of MTV's Run's House, is thrilled to welcome a new baby girl into his family. Run and wife Justine adopted Miley Justine Simmons in September. Miley was 1-month old when she joined the clan.
The family suffered the traumatic and heartbreaking loss of their first daughter, Victoria Anne in September 2006. Justine felt she couldn't go through with another pregnancy but she really wanted a little girl. So despite naysayers, they decided to adopt Miley as part of the healing process.
“People say, 'You need to mourn,' and you do, but only a little because the more you mourn, the more you want to mourn. I would have landed in depression,” Justine says.
Reverend Run is ecstatic. “It's heaven to have this baby come into our house at this time, at Christmas,” he declared.
Big ups to Reverend Run and family for giving a home to one of the countless "hard to place" African-American children up for adoption!
