The “pregnant man” gave birth to a baby girl on June 29th according to People. Thomas Beatie, 34, and his daughter are both doing well in an Oregon hospital.

He was born a woman but took large doses of testosterone and got his breasts removed to legally become a man. He and his wife, Nancy, 46, got pregnant by using donor sperm and Thomas’s eggs, through artificial insemination. Nancy has two kids from a previous marriage, however, had a hysterectomy and now cannot have children.

Thomas told People, “The only thing different about me is that I can’t breastfeed my baby. But a lot of mothers don’t.”
