New mom, Halle Berry, says she and her boyfriend, Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, had a hard time deciding on a name for their new baby girl, whom they eventually called Nahla Ariela Aubry.

The 41-year-old ‘Monster's Ball' actress, who gave birth in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, says she and Aubry "didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital. For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her."

Nahla translates as honeybee in Arabic, while the Hebrew name Ariela means lioness of God. Some reports say Berry, like J-Lo before her, may have been inspired by well-known fictional characters, in this case, Nala, the lioness from ‘The Lion King' and Ariel, the title character from ‘The Little Mermaid,' both Disney films.

"Halle has always been a huge fan of the Disney films. She wanted to make a reference to her favorite two films with the name, but added her own take on them too," a source close to the actress reveals.

Meanwhile, Gabriel's sister Eugenie said the 32-year-old model will be a fantastic father, adding: "Gabriel loves kids! He is already an uncle, and the kids just love him. They bring him so much joy."

Aunt Eugenie says the Aubry family is planning a welcome party in Montreal for its newest member. "We're going to have a big party for them," she says. "My father is so happy right now."

Halle Berry has achieved her long-held dream of having a baby–and she was right about the sex!

The 41-year-old, Oscar-winning actress delivered a healthy, 7 lb. 4 oz. baby girl in Los Angeles yesterday. No word yet on the baby's name, but Berry's publicist, Meredith O'Sullivan told PEOPLE magazine that she's doing "great."

"Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn't even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene," a source said.

Berry said last year that her role as a mother in her latest movie, 'Things We Lost in the Fire,' helped convince her that motherhood was for her. "I think it validated that I was meant to be a mother because every day I dealt with the character as a mother and thinking as a mother," Berry said. "It let me know that I must be a mother."

The actress, who was voted "Hottest Pregnant Woman Alive" by Maxim magazine, also accurately predicted her baby's gender, although she didn't officially confirm her hunch. She said she was sure she was expecting a girl because Stevie Wonder"s ‘Isn't She Lovely" kept playing on her iPod.

"For some reason that song keeps coming up on my iPod… even though it's on shuffle. We're like, `It's a girl! It's a girl!'"

The baby's father is 32-year-old model Gabriel Aubry, whom Berry met two years ago while shooting a Versace ad, "We know the last name will be Aubry," Berry had said.

Gabriel Aubry says he's been preparing for the last five months for the impending arrival of his baby with Halle Berry.

"I've read a lot of books," Aubry says. "There's a good one that Dr. Phil did [titled] 'Family First.' Great book. I recommend it."
