Padma Lakshmi Keeps Naming Tradition Alive

Top Chef Host Padma Lakshmi refuses to reveal the sex of her baby due this spring but gives clues on what his or her name will be.
Lakshmi will continue a tradition in her family and name the child an Indian name after someone in her family. She claims that the name will not be fancy but instead reflect a “classically Indian Sanskrit name.”
Lakshmi’s first name in Sanskrit means “lotus flower.”

Padma Lakshmi- Expecting her first child in late March/early April Padma’s pregnancy is considered a miracle by her doctors because her struggle with endometriosis. “I’m somebody who never knew I had this condition and always thought everything was okay” Padma has said. "I found out in a very hard, difficult way – and I had to be operated on. Now, I’m fine but it was a very trying ordeal."

Gorgeous in Red, with a Mom-to-Be Glow

Padma Lakshmi had that mom-to-be glow as she arrived at Indochine’s 25th Anniversary celebration, held November 20th in New York City. She stunned everyone is her gorgeous red dress with plunging neckline.
The Top Chef host, 39, expects her first child in late March/early April. She told Jimmy Kimmel last week that she’s feeling “totally blissed out” and enjoying her pregnancy, although she’s not sharing the sex of the baby!
