Sofia Coppala with her daughterMarie-Antoinette director Sofia Coppola, spent the afternoon – and sharing some lunch – with her 7-month-old daughter Romy in New York's Tompkins Square Park. As for the little girl, mom is the daughter of The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola and a cousin of actors Nicolas Cage and Jason Schwartzman, who also starred in Marie Antoinette.

In 2004, she became the first American woman ever nominated for best director Oscar. The two other past Oscar nominees were Jane Campion who is a New Zealander and Lina Wertmüller who is Italian. Her first appearance on film was as the baby in the Baptism sequence in The Godfather (1972).

Baby Girl For Sophia Coppola

According to People, actress Sofia Coppola gave birth in Paris to her first child, a baby girl named Romy on Tuesday. The father is Sophia's boyfriend, a French singer with the band Phoenix, Thomas Mars. Congratulations!

Sofia Coppola love Paris! She loves it so much, that this film maker has decided to gives birth in the most romantic city in the world. According to StarPulse Sofia is due this December and has moving into her new apartment in France.

The baby's father is French native musician, Thomas Mars. "We just moved into our new apartment in Paris…I'm going to stay there for the winter."

Coppola Baby!

Sofia Copolla PregnantFrancis Ford Coppola is going to be a grandfather.  His daughter Sofia Coppola, 35 is 7 months pregnant.  Sofia recently directed Marie Antoinette which opens this Friday and stars Kirstin Dunst.

Sofia's current boyfriend, Thomas Mars, the singer for the French rock band Phoenix, is the baby's father. People magazine reported the pregnancy in May.  Sofia had been previously married to director Spike Jonze and divorced in 2003.

The new addition to the Coppola familia may be lucky enough to have a wine named after him or her since Grandpa also owns a winery!  Look for this little prince or princess of the Coppola Dynasty to be carted around town in style, perhaps in an Inglesina Sofia Carriage - appropriately named!
