WINFREY, OPRAH

Birth Name: Orpah Gail Winfrey, later changed to Oprah Gail Winfrey
Born: January 29, 1954
Location: Kosciusko, Mississippi
Height: 5'6"
Awards: multiple Emmy awards, Bob Hope Humanitarian Award
Status: long term relationship with Stedman Graham
Children: none

Oprah is the host of The Oprah Winfrey Show.  She is the highest rated talk show in history. Her net worth is over $1.5 billion, making her the richest African American of the 20th century. And According to Wikipedia, the most philanthropic African American of all time, and the world's only Black billionaire for three straight years.  She is also, according to several assessments, the most influential woman in the world.

She was originally named Orpah Gail Winfrey, after one of the people in the Bible's Book of Ruth. Winfrey has said that because of problems spelling or pronouncing Orpah, the "r" and the "p" were reversed.  Her mother, Vernita Lee, was a housemaid, and her father, Vernon Winfrey, was a coal miner and later worked as a barber before becoming a city councilman. Winfrey's father was in the Armed Forces when she was born. After her birth, Winfrey's mother travelled north and Winfrey spent her first six years living in rural poverty with her Grandma Hattie Mae. Winfrey's grandmother taught her to read before the age of three and took her to the local church, where she was nicknamed "The Preacher" for her ability to recite Bible verses.  At age six, Winfrey moved to an inner city ghetto in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her mother, who was less supportive and encouraging than her grandmother. Winfrey has stated that she was molested by her cousin, uncle, and a family friend, starting when she was 9, according to Wikipedia.  As revealed on a 2004 episode of her television show, Oprah had a half-brother who was gay and had died of AIDS. Oprah skipped two grades and by the time she was 13, she got a scholarship to Nicolet High School. She was very popular but poor so she ended up running the streets and running away from home. At 14, she became pregnant but lost the baby after birth. So after that she was was sent to live with her father in Tennessee for a more strict environment. He encouraged her to get an education and she became and honors student, joined the speech team, and was voted "most popular girl" in the school.  She won an oratory contest, which secured her a full scholarship to Tennessee State University, a historically black institution, where she studied communication. At age 18, Winfrey won the Miss Black Tennessee beauty pageant. While she was in college, she worked at a local radio station, and that's when her career began.

Working in local media, she was both the youngest news anchor and the first black female news anchor at Nashville's WLAC-TV. She moved to Baltimore's WJZ-TV in 1976 to co-anchor the six o'clock news. She was then recruited to join Richard Sher as co-host of WJZ's local talk show People Are Talking, which premiered on August 14, 1978. She also hosted the local version of Dialing for Dollars there as well.  In 1983, Winfrey relocated to Chicago to host WLS-TV's low-rated half-hour morning talk-show, AM Chicago. Within months, Oprah took over and the rating skyrocketed.  Soon after they renamed the show after her, expanded the time to an hour, and expanded the broadcast nationally.  In the mid-1990s Winfrey adopted a less tabloid-orientated format, doing shows about heart disease in women, geopolitics with Lisa Ling, spirituality and meditation, and gift-giving and home decorating shows. She often interviews celebrities on issues that directly involve them in some way, such as cancer, charity work, or substance abuse.
In addition, she interviews ordinary people who have done extraordinary things or been involved in important current issues.  In 1993 Winfrey hosted a rare prime-time interview with Michael Jackson which became the fourth most watched event in American television history as well as the most watched interview ever, with an audience of one hundred million. Winfrey recently made a deal to extend her show until the 2010 – 2011 season, by which time it will have been on the air for twenty-five years. She plans to host 140 episodes per season, until her final season, when it will return to its current number, 130.  As well as hosting and appearing on television shows and acting in moves, Winfrey co-founded the women's cable television network Oxygen. She is also the president of Harpo Productions (Oprah spelled backwards).  Winfrey publishes two magazines: O, The Oprah Magazine and O at Home and has co-authored five books.  Oprah.com is a website created by Winfrey's company to provide resources and interactive content relating to her shows, magazines, book club, and public charity. Through Oprah.com Winfrey raised over three million dollars for Katrina victims and helped to capture four accused child predators. Oprah.com averages more than 100 million page views and more than three million users per month.  Winfrey signed a $55 million, three-year contract with XM Satellite Radio to establish a new radio channel. The channel is called Oprah & Friends and features popular contributors to The Oprah Winfrey Show and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Winfrey and her partner Stedman Graham have been together for over 20 years. Sophie and Soloman are her two Cocker Spaniels. Winfrey believes that the reason she never had children was because her students at South Africa’s Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for girls were meant to be her daughters.

In 1998, Winfrey began Oprah's Angel Network, a charity aimed at encouraging people around the world to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged others. Accordingly, Oprah's Angel Network supports charitable projects and provides grants to nonprofit organizations around the world that share this vision. To date, Oprah's Angel Network has raised more than $51,000,000. Winfrey personally covers all administrative costs associated with the charity, so 100% of all funds raised go to charity programs.  Her philanthropy has included a $10 million donation to Hurricane Katrina relief.  Winfrey also put 100 black men through college with $7 million in scholarships.  Winfrey was the recipient of the first Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2002 Emmy Awards for services to television and film. She also invested $40 million and much of her time establishing the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls near Johannesburg in South Africa.

He also performed for MTV's game show, Remote Control, portraying made-up characters "Trivia Delinquent" and "Stud Boy". He started performing in comedy clubs by taking the stage at a club in Boston. Then, he was discovered by fellow comedian Dennis Miller, in Los Angeles. Miller recommended Sandler to Saturday Night Live producer, Lorne Michaels. He was hired in 1990 as a writer for the show and quickly became a featured player the following year. He would perform amusing songs, such as "The Chanukah Song." Sandler first tasted success in 1989's Going Overboard. But, in 1995, Sandler starred in Billy Madison, where he played a grown man repeating grades 1-12 in order to inherit his father's multi-million-dollar hotel empire. This became a huge success for Sandler. He followed Billy Madison with other successful comedies such as Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Very Bad Things, and The Waterboy. SMITH, ANNA NICOLE

Birth name: Vickie Lynn Hogan
Born: November 28, 1967
Location: Houston, Texas
Died: February 8, 2007 in Hollywood, Florida
Awards: 2003 Playmate of the Year
Children: Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern and Daniel Wayne Smith (deceased)

Anna Nicole Smith was an American model, actress and blonde celebrity, who first gained popularity as Playboy magazine's 1993 Playmate of the Year. She was also known for her marriage to, octogenarian billionaire, J. Howard Marshall, who was 63 years older then her.

She is the daughter of Donald Eugene Hogan and Virgie Mae Tabers. Her half-sisters are Donna Hogan and Amy Hogan. When she was very young, the family moved to Texas and shortly after her parents divorced. She was brought up by her mother, a law enforcement officer, and her aunt. Anna Nicole always said that she wanted to be the next Marilyn Monroe. In 1997, she recorded a cover version of "My Heart Belongs To Daddy," originally made famous by Marilyn Monroe. The song was released in France & a video featuring Smith was made to promote it.

She was 17 when she had her first job at Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken. There she met her first husband, Billy Wayne Smith. She gave birth to their son, Daniel Wayne Smith (January 22, 1986-September 10, 2006), a year later. They divorced and after a few odd end jobs like Walmart and waitressing at Red Lobster, she became an exotic dancer.

According to Wikipedia, Smith's career took off after she was chosen by Hugh Hefner to appear on the cover of the March 1992 issue of Playboy wearing a low-cut evening gown. She was subsequently called "the next Marilyn Monroe" in press reports, a comparison she encouraged by wearing a hairstyle reminiscent of Monroe's, as well as her trademark white dress.  She first appeared nude in May of 1992 and in 1993 she was Playmate of the Year.

She met elderly oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall in the strip club she was working at, Gigi's. They dated for two years and eventually married.  This resulted in a great deal of gossip about her marrying him for his money. After being married fourteen months, Marshall died on August 4, 1995. After 5 years of fighting with his son, E. Pierce Marshall, for half of the 1.6 billion estate, she was awarded $449,754,134. On June 20, 2006, E. Pierce Marshall died at age 67 after an infection. His widow, Elaine T. Marshall, now represents his estate.

She was highly publicized in movies that she appeared in and she also produced the 1997 thriller, Skyscraper. Comedians often used her as a subject because of her legal battles, her weight gain, and her bizarre behavior.  In 2002, she debuted in her own reality TV series on the E! cable network, The Anna Nicole Show. The series focused on her personal and private life. The debut of the The Anna Nicole Show was the highest rated series on the network, but critics blasted it and ratings dropped with each successive week. The show was cancelled in 2004.

In October 2003, she became a spokesperson for TrimSpa, which helped her lose a reported 69 lbs.  As of 2006, Smith gave up modeling, although she remained a spokesperson for TrimSpa.
Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern was born in September of 2006. Anna Nicole says that the father is Howard Stern, her lawyer, but her ex-boyfriend, entertainment photojournalist Larry Birkhead, filed a lawsuit for paternity. A judge in the United States ordered that DNA tests be performed to determine who is the biological father of Dannielynn.

Wikipedia states that on February 8, 2007, Smith was found unresponsive in a room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. At 1:38 p.m. a nurse called 911 and at 1:45 p.m. a bodyguard administered CPR before she was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital at 2:10 p.m. and pronounced dead at 2:49 p.m. She was later pronounced dead upon arrival. Smith's boyfriend, Howard K. Stern, was with her when she died and has reported to Entertainment Tonight that her temperature was running high the night before.

She performed in local dance revues and her local Baptist church choirs, and was auditioning for the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club by the time she was eight. Although she was considered too young to join the series at the time, a producer on the show introduced her to a New York agent. Spears subsequently spent three summers at NYC's Professional Performing Arts School and also appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions, including 1991's Ruthless!. In 1992, she landed a spot on Star Search, and though she won the first round, she lost in the second (her opponent would later appear on a 2001 episode of the game show I've Got a Secret with his "secret" being the win against Spears). Spears then returned to the Disney Channel for a spot on the New Mickey Mouse Club and was accepted. She was featured in the 1993–1994 seasons from the ages of 11–13.

After the show ended, Spears and her five friends Amanda Latona, Veronica Finn, Mandy Ashford, Danay Ferrer, and her Mouseketeer co-star Nikki DeLoach) co-formed American pop group Innosense. Finally, once Spears was not part of the group, she decided to go solo.

She had an annulment from her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander and is currently getting a divorce from Kevin Federline.

STALLONE, SYLVESTER

Birth Name: Michael Enzio Sylvester Stallone
Born: July 6, 1946
Location: New York City
Height: 5'9"
Awards: Academy Award Nominated
Status: Married to Jennifer Flavin
Children: Sage, Seargeoh, Sophia Rose, Sistine Rose and Scarlett Rose

Sylvester Stallone is an actor, director, producer and screenwriter. He is often referred to by his nickname, "Sly". He achieved his greatest successes in a number of action films, notably the Rocky and Rambo series.

At fifteen, his classmates voted him the one "most likely to end up in the electric chair." In the 1960s, Stallone attended the University of Miami for three years. He came within a few credit hours of graduation, before he decided to drop out and pursue an acting career. After Stallone's request that his acting and life experiences be accepted in exchange for his remaining credits, he was granted a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) degree by the President of the University of Miami in 1999.

Stallone's career began with the leading role, Stud, in a hard-core pornographic film called Party at Kitty and Stud's. Stallone did not gain world-wide fame until his starring role in the smash hit Rocky (1976), the film was awarded the 1976 Academy Award for Best Picture. The movie has made the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art a Philadelphia tourist attraction.

Stallone is listed 7th in the list of the top heroes of all time by American Film Institute in 2003.Many consider him the most famous film star of the 80's and one of the most popular celebrities of the decade after the release of Rambo and it's sequels. Sly does most of his own stunts including much of the dangerous stuntwork in the Rambo films and Cliffhanger.

Stallone claims to have been able to bench press 385-400 lbs and squat 500 lbs in his prime. While in a bench pressing contest with former Mr. Olympia Franco Columbu, he severely tore his pectoral muscle and needed over 160 stitches on it. This is why one half of his chest is more veiny than the other.

Along with acting and directing,he wrote all six Rocky films, Stallone also wrote Cobra and Driven. He has co-written several other films, such as F.I.S.T., Over the Top and the first three Rambo films. His last major success as a co-writer came with 1993's Cliffhanger. Also,he owns shares in Planet Hollywood restaurants with Bruce Willis and formerly Arnold Schwarzenegger (who has since sold his part).

Has been married three times, to Sasha Czack, Brigitte Nielsen, and Jennifer Flavin (present). He has five children, sons Sage Moonblood and Seargeoh, who is autistic, with Czack. His other children include, daughters Sophia Rose, Sistine Rose and Scarlett Rose with Flavin.
The newest Rocky film, Rocky Balboa, was released in December 2006. He is also in production of Rambo IV and will be directing a movie on The Forty Days of Musa Dagh.

Beyoncé Knowles is a Grammy Award-winning American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer, Golden Globe Award-nominated actress, dancer, and fashion designer and model for House of Deréon. Knowles rose to fame as the creative force and lead singer of R&B girl group Destiny's Child, the best-selling female group of all time, with over fifty million records sold. In 2003, she went solo and her newest album is up for 5 Grammy AWards in 2007.

Knowles is the elder of two daughters born to Mathew Knowles and Tina Beyince in Houston, Texas. Her parents decided on her first name as a tribute to her mother's surname. When Beyonce was seven, she was a soloist in her church choir and was taking dance lessons. She won over 30 local song and dance competitions.

Knowles and her former best friend LaTavia Roberson met Kelly Rowland and LeToya Luckett. They formed a quartet that would perform in their backyards and in Tina Knowles' hair salon. After singing at local events, they got their break when they entered Star Search. The group, then named "Girl's Tyme", were disappointed after losing the competition. Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé's father and Rowland's legal guardian, decided to help the girls reach their dreams of becoming singers. He quit his six-figure salary job as a multi-million dollar equipment salesman at Xerox to manage the group. This decision by Mathew eventually affected the whole family. Their income had been cut in half, causing the family to move into two different apartments. When the group was signed to Columbia Records in 1996, it gave the entire family a second chance at making things work.

As a teenager, Knowles attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where she showed her musical talents. She later went to Alief Elsik High School, also in Houston.
Destiny's Child had their first Billboard top 10 hit in 1998. Soon after, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson left the group. Even after that, the group, now a trio, charted four Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, several top ten hits, and two number-one albums in 2000.
In 2001, Knowles won the "Songwriter of the Year" award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Pop Music Awards. She is the first African-American female and second overall female songwriter of all time to accomplish this.

The group went seperate ways but they returned for one last album, Destiny Fulfilled, in 2004. In 2005, they did release a greatest hits album which became the best selling number ones albums by a girl group ever. When Beyonce went solo, she teamed up with many different artists to produce many more singles and 2 more albums.

In 2007, Knowles will embark on her lengthy B'Day World Tour. She also has been hailed by Entertainment Weekly as the 7th Most Entertaining Person of the Year of 2006 and she was ranked the highest musician on the list. Mid-2007, her third studio album will be released. She has starred and co-starred in a few movies. Her latest movie, Dreamgirls, is nominated for 8 2007 Academy Awards, including her latest single, Listen, for Best Original Song.
On a personal note, Beyonce is currently dating rapper, Jay-Z. The couple does not discuss thier relationship publicly and feels that it has helped them. Knowles and Kelly Rowland, along with Mathew Knowles, Tina Knowles, and sister Solange Knowles recently announced the formation of the Survivor Foundation, a charitable entity set up for the purpose of providing transitional housing for 2005 Hurricane Katrina victims and storm evacuees in the Houston, Texas area. The Survivor Foundation extends the philanthropic mission of the "Knowles-Rowland Center For Youth", a multi-purpose community outreach facility in downtown Houston.

Lindsay is the eldest child of Michael and Dina Lohan, both former actors. She has three younger siblings: brother Michael had a role as "Lost Boy at Camp" in The Parent Trap, sister Aliana is an aspiring model and actress, and brother Dakota (Cody) has modeled fashions, states Wikipedia.  The family was always financially comfortable. Her father inherited a pasta business which he later traded and more recently he is an investment banker. Her mother, a former and Rockette at Radio City Music Hall, became Lindsay's manager.  Despite the family's wealth, Lohan, when she wasn't tutored on film sets, attended public schools on Long Island until just before her high school graduation, finishing her studies at home.

Linsay's personal life has been the subject of public scrutiny. In 2004, according to Wikipedia, it was revealed that her father spent most of her younger years in prison for securities fraud. In 2005, he was back there for attempted assualt and aggrevated unlicensed driving. Later that year, her parents divorced. Lindsay moved to LA and shared an apartment with actress Raven-Symoné but shortly after bought a house in West Hollywood. She has dated actor Wilmer Valderrama and Pink Taco restaurateur Harry Morton.

Early on, Lindsay had a hard time finding work through her modeling agency, Ford Models. But eventually, she went on to do over 100 Toys'R'Us ads. She also modelled for Calvin Klein Kids and Abercrombie Kids. As she got older, she was featured in  Vogue, Elle, Bliss (UK), Хай Клуб (High Club, Bulgaria), and Blenda (Japan). Just like modelling, her acting career got off on a rocky start. She did eventually do about 60 commercials which launched her television career in daytime soap operas and television series. She landed a role on Another World and was delivered more dialogue than any other ten-year-old in daytime series at that time. She left Another World when she got cast in the movie Parent Trap. Since then, she has been cast in several movies, many produced by Disney. She appeared in the tv series , That 70's Show, and Ashton Kutcher featured her in the second season finale of Punk'd, along with other tv appearances.

Hoping to become a "triple threat" (actor/model/singer) like her idol, Ann-Margret, Lohan began by showcasing her singing talents through her films. Her first album was a hit but her second fell under the top 100 within 6 weeks of being released.

Lindsay has been in the media over her feud with Hilary Duff and their relationships with Aaron Carter. Also, after her break-up with Valderrama in 2004, many romantic rumors started. There was also specualtion on her weight loss. Lohan was portrayed as a "party girl" who frequently went to clubs with Nicole Richie and Paris and Nicky Hilton. She got into 3 car accidents in 2005 which made headlines. In 2006, she entered in to rehab for her drinking.

Lindsay Lohan was the first living person to have a "My Scene Goes Hollywood" doll released by Mattel. She was voted #10 on the list of "100 Sexiest Women" by readers of FHM. She is currently working on some new movies.

In 2000, she was listed in the Guinness World Book of Records as the most successful female recording artist of all time with estimated worldwide sales are 120 million albums.

She holds the record for the top-grossing concert tour by a female artist. Forbes magazine estimated her net worth at $325 million and in 2007, Billboard and Guinness Book of Records listed her as the second highest earning female singer of all time.
Madonna is third of 6 children. She was raised in a Catholic family in Detroit. Madonna's mother died of breast cancer at age thirty on December 1, 1963, and Madonna has frequently discussed the impact the death had on her life and career, calling it "one of the hardest things I've faced in my life." Her father later married the family housekeeper, Joan Gustafson, and they had two children together. Her dad made it mandatory for all of the kids to take music lessons but Madonna convinced him after a few piano lessons to let her do ballet, which will later impact her dance style. She attended Rochester Adams High School, where she was a straight-A student, excelled at sports, and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Madonna received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan.

Her ballet teacher convinced her to drop out of school in her sophmore year to move to New York and pursue her dancing career. She left with $35 in her pocket, and ended up working low paying jobs, including Dunkin' Donuts and nude modeling on occasion. She eventually started dancing for several modern dance companies and while she was on tour as a dancer for a French disco artist, she became involved with musician Dan Gilroy, with whom she later formed her first rock band, the Breakfast Club. Then she became involved with drummer,Stephen Bray, and they formed the band Emmy. Together they wrote and produced a number of solo disco and dance songs that brought her local attention in New York dance clubs. DJ and record producer Mark Kamins was so impressed by her demo recordings to bring them to the attention of Sire Records. In 1982, Madonna signed with them and her first album sold 3 million copies worldwide. Madonna's provocative style became popular with teenagers, and it wasn't long before teenage girls were dressing up as her. Her next album,Like A Virgin, was #1 on the US Album charts, sold 12 million copies worldwide, and produced 4 top five singles. She then entered into movies and started to tour, and sold many more albums. After years of numerous different controversies with her sexual and religious themes on stage and in videos, she calmed down. Since, Madonna has authored and co-authored a number of books.

Madonna married actor, Sean Penn, in 1985 but they divorced 4 years later because he abused her. She then had relationships with actor,Warren Beatty, model and porn star,Tony Ward,  rapper, Vanilla Ice, and basketball player, Dennis Rodman. One day while she was walking in Central Park, she met Carlos Leon, a Cuban fitness trainer, and eventaully, they had a baby girl, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon. That relationship soon ended and Madonna ended up with Guy Ritchie, whom she met through friends. The couple had a baby boy together, Rocco John Ritchie, and they married soon after. In October 2006, Madonna flew to Malawi to help build an orphanage, which she also funded, as part of the Raising Malawi initiative. While there, she began the process to adopt a baby boy, David Banda. Her family renamed him David Banda Mwale Ciccone Ritchie. Because of Malawi laws, Madonna and Guy Ritchie remain David Banda's foster parents for the required eighteen month period then the adoption will be final.

As of 2007, Madonna resides in Wiltshire, England, with Ritchie and their children. Since the late-1990s, Madonna has become a devotee of the Kabbalah Centre and a disciple of its controversial head Rabbi Philip Berg and his wife Karen. Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie attend Kabbalah classes and have been reported to have adopted a number of aspects of the movement associated with Judaism. Madonna has stated that she doesn't eat dairy and is on a Macrobiotic Diet, consisting primairly of whole grains, fish and fresh vegetables. Furthermore, she has a personal Japanese chef who cooks for her and says that she does Yoga and Pilates to stay in shape.

He changed his name back to Prince in 2000.He is a songwriter, producer, singer, actor, and musician.
His father,John L. Nelson, played in a jazz trio The Prince Rogers Trio, hence Prince's birth name. There are a number of myths regarding Prince’s ethnicity and gender, both of his parents are in fact African American. His mother,Mattie Shaw, is mixture of different heritages and his father is African American and Italian. Tika Evene is his sister and shortly after she was born, Prince's parents seperated. Prince and Anderson joined Prince’s cousin Charles Smith in a band called Grand Central, formed in junior high school. By the time Prince entered high school, the Grand Central eveloved into Champagne and they were playing original music. Eventually, Prince got to make a demo tape and he was promoted by Owen Hunsney, who called him a star of the future. Warner Bros. won the bidding on him because they were the only label that allowed Prince creative control of his songs. By 1979, Prince need a backing band and Cymone was on bass.

Children: None

Jake Gyllenhaal is the son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner.
Gyllenhaal's father was raised in the Swedenborgain religion, while his mother is from a New York City Jewish-American family. Jake also has a sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is also an actress. Gyllenhaal was raised in the Jewish faith, and his Bar Mitzvah took place in a homeless shelter to instill in him a sense of gratitude. He was also forced to work in the summer to support himself. He worked as a lifeguard and busboy at a restaurant owned by a family friend.
Gyllenhaal began acting at age eleven, making his debut in Billy Crystal's son in the 1991 film City Slickers. In years to come, Gyllenhaal's parents regularly forbade him to take roles is he was indeed chosen. He was, however, allowed to partake in several of his father's films.  He appeared in the 1993 film A Dangerous Woman and in a 19994 episode of Homicide: Life on the Street.

Gyllenhaal graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles in 1998, then attended Columbia University for two years. He dropped out to concentrate on acting, but has expressed interest to earn his degree. Gyllenhaal's performance in October Sky earned a breakout performance review from the Sacramento News and Review.

Donnie Darko, Gyllenhaal's second major film, stars his as a troubled teenager who, after escaping death, experiences visions of a 6-foot-tall rabbit named Frank who tells him the world is coming to an end. Gyllenhaal's next role as the lead in Highway, was described by critics as "silly, cliched, and straight to video." He had more successful starring in The Good Girl, opposite Jennifer Aniston, and starred in Lovely & Amazing with Catherine Keener. He later starred in the romantic comedy Bubble Boy, which was loosely based on David Vetter. The film is about pursuing the woman he loved before she married the wrong man.

Following Bubble Boy, he starred opposite of Dustin Hoffman and Susan Sarandon in Moonlight Mile, as a young man coping with the death of his fiance and her parents. Gyllenhaal was almost cast as Spide Man for Spider Man 2 due to the concern that Tobey Maguire, who had a preexisting back injury, risked paralysis from stunt work the movie required. Maguire recovered
and the movie was shot without Gyllenhaal. Instead, he starred in The Day After Tomorrow in 2004, oppose Dennis Quaid as his father.

Gyllenhall made his theatrical debut on a London stage in Kenneth Lonergan's This is Our Youth.
Gyllenhaal is quoted as saying, "every actor I look up to has done theatre work, so I know I had to give it a try."

2005 was by far the year of Jake Gyllenhaal. He starred in three critically praised films including:Proof, Jarhead, and Brokeback Mountain. He stars opposite Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins, as a math grad who tries to convince Paltrow's character to publish a revolutionary proof to a problem puzzling the mathematical community. In Jarhead, he played an aggressive masculinity as a violent US Marine during the first Gulf War. Brokeback Mountain, which is Gyllenhaal's most notable film, stars him and Heath Ledger, as two sheep herders who secretly fall in love in the 1960s. The film won a Golden Lion prize at the Venice Film Festival,
four Golden Globes, Four BAFTA Awards, and three Academy Awards. When asked about his kissing scenes with Heath Ledger, Gyllenhaal stated, "As an actor, I think we need to embrace the times we feel most umcomfortable." When asked about the more intimate scenes with
Ledger, Gyllenhaal referred them to "doing a love scene with a woman I'm not particularly attracted to."

His most notable relationship has been with actress Kirsten Dunst.  People has recently linked Gyllenhaal with actress Reese Witherspoon, his co-star in Rendition.

Internationally viewed as a sex symbol, Gyllenhaal was named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" in 2006. He was also listed in People's "Hottest Bachelors of 2006".

Holly is now the "head" girlfriend and it was announced in January of 2007, that Hugh (age 80) wants to have a baby with her.

The Hugh M. Hefner First Amendment Awards were created by daughter Christie in 1979 "to honor individuals who have made significant contributions in the vital effort to protect and enhance First Amendment rights for Americans." When Conrad Hilton (Paris's great-grandfather and founder of Hilton Hotels) died in 1979, he left nothing in his will to his children or other descendants. Barron Hilton (her grandfather) contested this decision and won in 1988. The value of Paris's inheritance has been variously estimated at between (US) $30 and $50 million.

She attended her freshman year of high school in Rancho Mirage, California at the Marywood-Palm Valley School and her sophomore and junior years of high school at the Dwight School in New York, but dropped out and eventually earned a GED.  Hilton did not attend college.  In early 2001, Hilton began to develop a reputation as a 19-year-old socialite, being identified as "New York's leading It Girl." Paris gained publicity in 2003 because of a sex video which leaked out and appeared throughout the Internet.

In recent years Hilton has gained recognition by appearing in television, movies, television commercials, and modeling photographs. According to Forbes, in 2003–2004 she earned approximately US $2 million for her television and movie roles, and in 2004–2005 her earnings from television, movies, modeling, and personal appearances have earned her an additional $6.5 million.

She has had relationships with many different famous people, actors, singers, sports professionals, etc.Hilton was engaged to male fashion model Jason Shaw from mid-2002 to early 2003. On May 29, 2005, she announced her engagement to Paris Latsis, a Greek shipping heir. However that was called off and she started dating another Greek shipping Heir,Stavros Niarchos III, which ended seven months later.

On September 7, 2006, Hilton was arrested for driving under the influence.
In the March 2005 issue of Playboy, she was named the "Sex Star of the Year" in their list of the 25 Sexiest Celebrities. Maxim magazine ranked Hilton #38 on its annual Hot 100 list. She was also voted as the second Worst Celebrity Role Model of 2006, behind Britney Spears.

HOLMES, KATIE

Birth Name: Kate Noelle Holmes
Born: December 18, 1978
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Height: 5'9
Awards: MTV Award, Golden Raspberry
Status: Married to Tom Cruise
Children: Daughter, Suri Cruise

Katie Holmes is known for her role in the tv series, Dawson's Creek. Dawson's Creek made her a star. She has made some movies but admits that most of them were "bombs".

She is the youngest in a family of five children by Kathleen and Martin Joesph Holmes, a divorce attorney. Katie was baptised Roman Catholic. She attended an all female high school, Notre Dame Academy, where she was a 4.0 student. She appeared in school musicals at a nearby all boys school. After receiving a 1310 on her SAT's, she was accepted into Columbia University, where her father wanted her to become a doctor.

She took modeling classes, starting at the age of fourteen, and in 1996, she went to a talent expo in NYC. There, she found an agent after performing and the tape was sent to a casting director for the 1997 movie, The Ice Storm, where she was cast in a small role.

In January 1997, Holmes went to Los Angeles for pilot season, when producers cast and shoot new programs in the hopes of securing a spot on a network schedule. The Blade, her hometown paper, reported she was offered the lead in Buffy the Vampire Slayer but she turned it down. She was asked to audition for a new show and she turned it down because she had a lead role in school play. They allowed her to audition for Dawson's Creek via video tape.  The Hollywood Reporter claimed the story of Holmes's audition "has become the stuff of legend" and "no one even thought that it was weird that one of the female leads would audition via Federal Express."
Holmes filmed the pilot of Dawson's Creek in Wilmington, North Carolina, during spring break of her senior year of high school in 1997.When the show was picked up by The WB, Holmes moved to Wilmington, where the show filmed. The show brought her national attention and many fans back home; Toledo's Thanksgiving Day parade in November 1998 had record attendance when Holmes was named grand marshal.  Dawson's Creek ran from 1998 to 2003, and Holmes was the only actor to appear in all 128 episodes.

Although most of her movies never hit the "top 10", she did win an MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Artist for Disturbing Behavior in 1998. Batman Begins was her most successful film of her career. However, she received a Golden Raspberry nomination for "worst supporting actress" for the film.

Holmes was annually named by both the British and American editions of FHM magazine as one of the sexiest women in the world from 1999 forward. She was named one of People's "50 Most Beautiful People" in 2003. Teen People declared her one of the "25 Hottest Stars Under 25" that year. In 2005, People said she was one of the ten best dressed stars that year.

Holmes dated her Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson for several months early in the show's run, the relationship ending amicably. They are now best friends. She then met actor Chris Klein and they were engaged from 2003-2005. Weeks after, Katie started dating, actor, Tom Cruise, sixteen years her senior. Two months after they first met, she became engaged to Cruise. Their relationship has made Holmes the subject of international media attention, much of it negative. There is controversy between her Catholic religion and Cruise's belief in Scientology. The couple announced Holmes was pregnant in October 2005; on April 18, 2006, she gave birth to a baby girl, Suri Cruise. On November 18, 2006, she and Cruise were married in Italy, in a Scientology ceremony.

Growing up, Janet had no desire to become involved in the entertainment industry. She wanted to become a horse jockey. But, when the success of the Jackson 5 began to diminish, Joseph brought all of his kids into the spotlight. She made her first performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In 1976, the Jacksons caught the eye of CBS president Fred Silverman. He was trying to find a new act to replace The Sonny & Cher show. So, on June 16, 1976, the Jacksons show became the first African-American variety show on television. It ran for two seasons.

It was not as successful on the Billboard chart. The album sold more than one million copies worldwide since the time of its release.

AGUILERA, CHRISTINA

Born: December 18, 1980
Location: Staten Island, New York
Height: 5'2"
Genres: Pop,Dance,Urban Pop,Soft Ballad,Hip Hop Soul,Jazz,Soul,Pop Rock
Label: RCA Records (1998–present)
Awards: 4 Grammy Awards won and several nominations, 1 Latin Grammy Award
Status: Married to Jordan Bratman
Children: None

Christina's parents are Fausto Wagner Xavier Aguilera, a U.S. Army sergeant, and Shelly Loraine Fidler, a Spanish teacher. Her parents divorced when she was 6 or 7 and she moved to Rochester, PA with her mother and little sister, Rachael.  She attended North Allegheny School District.

Since Aguilera was a small child, she aspired to be a singer. As a child she performed at block parties and in talent competitions, where she defeated her opponents. Aguilera soon gained media attention, and was known as "the little girl with the big voice".  According to VH1's Driven, this label eventually backfired on her. When competitors learned they would be up against her in any given week, they immediately backed out. Her peers became jealous and after one attempt of assualt and several acts of vandalism around her house, the family moved.

In 1990, she appeared on Star Search but failed to win. Aguilera sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey games, Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games, throughout her childhood.  Her first major role in entertainment came in 1993 when she joined the Disney Channel's variety show The New Mickey Mouse Club. Her co-stars included Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Rhona Bennett (who later became a member of En Vogue), Ryan Gosling, and Keri Russell. Her co-stars called her the "diva".  When the show ended in 1994, Aguilera began recording demos in an attempt to get signed to a record label.

In 1997, she represented the United States at the "Golden Stag" International Festival.  According to Wikipedia, in 1998 she sang the High "E" in full voice on a cover of Whitney Houston's "Run to You" which she recorded with an old tape recorder in her bathroom. She was then selected to record the song "Reflection" for the Disney animated production of Mulan (1998). Recording "Reflection" led to Aguilera earning a contract with RCA Records during the same week.  "Reflection" peaked within the top twenty on the Adult Contemporary Singles Chart, and it was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for "Best Original Song" in 1998. She went on to make many hit singles and albums.

Christina has also performed at the 2007 Grammy Awards and the NBA All Star Game Half Time Show in February. She will also guest star on CSI: NY in late February, 2007. In January 2007, Aguilera was named the 19th richest woman in entertaiment by Forbes with a net worth of $60 million+.

There were many rumors about Christina dating Carson Daly, an MTV VJ, but both denied it. She dated Puerto Rican-born dancer Jorge Santos for two years until the relationship ended in September 2001.  In late 2002, Aguilera began dating music marketing executive Jordan Bratman. They were married in 2005.

She has been active in many different charities. She is still a major contributor in her hometown of Pittsburgh contributing regularly to the Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.  She also supports the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Refuge UK, PETA, and Defenders of Wildlife. Aguilera contributes in the fight against AIDS by participating in many campaigns and projects.

After several lesser-known film and television roles during the early 1990s, Aniston came to fame on the hugely popular television sitcom Friends for which she won a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award.

Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, California and grew up in New York City. In 1985, the family moved to Los Angeles, where Aniston's father starred on the soap opera Days of our Lives. Aniston graduated from Manhattan's School of Performing Arts. Aniston's desire to become an actress grew as she worked in Off-Broadway productions such as For Dear Life and Dancing on Checker's Grave. During this time, she supported herself with several part-time jobs, including working as a telemarketer and bike messenger.

Aniston appeared as a "Nutri-System" girl on The Howard Stern Radio Show in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Then she moved to Hollywood and landed some television roles. After the string of cancelled shows, along with her appearance in the critically derided 1993 horror film, Leprechaun, Aniston seriously considered giving up acting. She auditioned for Friends and was cast in the role of Rachael Green making one million dollars per episode for the last 2 seasons. She also starred in some films, mentioned in the filmography below.

Her high-profile relationship with actor Brad Pitt was frequently publicized in the press. The couple spit about 5 years later.  Media reports have speculated that the split was due to an affair on Pitt's part, with actress Angelina Jolie, or due to Aniston's refusal to have children, which she denies ever saying. Since the couple's divorce, Aniston has been romantically linked with well-known actor Vince Vaughn. Although in November 2006 it was officially announced that the couple had split but they remain friends. She is friends with Oprah Winfrey, Sheryl Crow, and Ellen DeGeneres. CRUISE, TOM

Birth name: Thomas Cruise Mapother IV
Born: July 3, 1962
Location: Syracuse, New York, USA
Awards: Nova Award, Golden Globe winner, and 3 Grammy Award nominations
Height: 5 ft 7 in
Status: Married to Katie Holmes (2006 - Present)
Children: Isabella, Connor, and Suri

Cruise's family resided in near-poverty, because Cruise's father would not pay child support after his estrangement from the family when his son was eleven. Cities in which Tom lived included Ottawa, Ontario (where he attended Colonel By Secondary School), Louisville, Kentucky, Winnetka, Illinois and Wayne, New Jersey. In all, Cruise attended eight elementary schools and three high schools. He briefly attended a Franciscan seminary in Cincinnati and aspired to become a Catholic priest. He eventually graduated from Glen Ridge High School in New Jersey in 1980.

He was abused as a child by his father and bullied at school. At the age of twelve, he dropped his father's last name.  Cruise started acting after being sidelined from his high school's wrestling team due to a knee injury. While injured, he successfully auditioned for a lead role in his high school's production of "Guys and Dolls" and decided to become an actor after his success in the role.

Counted as one of the most successful movie stars in Hollywood, he is the only actor to have six consecutive $100 million plus blockbusters on his resume. Cruise teamed with producer Paula Wagner to form Cruise/Wagner Productions, which has co-produced several of Cruise's films.

In 1990, 1991 and 1997, People magazine rated him among the 50 most beautiful people in the world.  In 1995, Empire magazine ranked him among the 100 sexiest stars in film history.  Two years later, it ranked him among the top 5 movie stars of all time. In 2002 and 2003, he was rated by Premiere among the top 20 in its annual Power 100 list.

In 2006, Premiere magazine established Cruise as Hollywood's most powerful actor, as Cruise came in at number 13 on the magazines 2006 Power List, being the highest ranked actor.  On 16 June 2006, Forbes magazine published 'The Celebrity 100', a list of the most powerful celebrities, in which Cruise came top.

Cruise was married to Nicole Kidman, they adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.  He was then romantically involved with Penelope Cruise. Later he started dating Katie Holmes and 2 months later he proposed (after jumping on Oprah's couch). Soon after, the couple got married in Italy and eventually had baby girl, Suri.

Cruise is arguably Hollywood's most outspoken member of the Church of Scientology. Also,he earned his pilot's license in 1994 and owns a World War II P-51 Mustang and Pitts Special S-2B stunt plane.

Cruise is active with charity. Working with his industry, they raised over $150 million for 9/11, and works with an AIDS nonprofit organization.

Location: Owensboro, Kentucky, USA
Awards: Academy Award Nomination for Pirates of the Caribbean and Finding Neverland, Critics Choice Award Nominations for Pirates of the Caribbean and Finding Neverland, Golden Globe Nominations for Edward Scissorhands, Benny & June, Ed Wood, Pirates of the Caribbean I and II, and Finding Neverland, Screen Actors Guild Award for Pirates and Star on the Walk of Fame, and many other nominations.
Height: 5’9”
Status: Dating French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis
Children: Lily-Rose Melody Depp and John “Jack” Christopher Depp III

Johnny Depp was born in Owensboro, Kentucky to Christopher Depp Sr. and Betty Sue Wells. He has a brother named Danny and two sisters, Christie and Debbie. During their childhood, the Depp family was constantly moving, eventually moving twenty different times before settling in Miramar, Florida in 1970. Depp engaged in self harm when he was younger, later stating “my body is a journal in a way. It’s like what sailors used to do, where every tattoo meant something, a specific time in your life when you make a mark on yourself, whether you do it yourself with a knife or with a professional tattoo artist.”

In 1979, Depp dropped out of school to pursue a rock career. He joined “The Kids” and in 1983 married his make-up artist and drummer’s sister, Lori Anne Allison, which ultimately created conflict and the band broke up. They later divorced in 1985.

Depp’s first major role was in A Nightmare on Elm Street. He later was cast in 21 Jump Street where he became an instant teen heart throb. His status sky rocketed with his performance in Pirates of the Carribean, playing Jack Sparrow, whom Depp modeled off of Rocking Stones Keith Richards.

In his personal life, Depp lives with his girlfriend Vanessa Paradise and currently the couple has two children Lily-Rose, and Jack. Depp has a tattoo of a sparrow flying over the word Jack, which is for his son Jack and also commemorating Pirates of the Caribbean.
Depp has been arrested several times, once in a Vancover hotel lobby for a late-night altercation. He was also arrested for allowing illegal drugs to be sold at his club, The Viper Room, where River Phoenix died. In 1994, he was arrested in New York City for causing severe damages to a New York hotel room and again in 1999 for fighting with paparazzi in London.
Depp also co-owns Man Ray, a Parisian restaurant, along with Sean Penn, John Malkovich, and Mick Hucknall. He also enjoys music and can be heard playing slide guitar on the Oasis song “Fade-In-Out”, in the movie Chocolat, the soundtrack Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and performed on Shane McGowan’s first solo album.
